Brisk walking lowers the risk of 5 cancers

Research funded by the World Cancer Research Fund, published in BMC Cancer, found that brisk walking is linked to a lower risk of 5 cancers:

  • lung

  • thyroid

  • anal

  • small intestine

  • liver (hepatocellular carcinoma)

The World Cancer Research Fund International’s ground breaking research is used to produce the evidence-based Cancer Prevention Recommendations, a not for profit organisation. The World Cancer Research Fund’s vision is ‘to live in a world where no one dies of a preventable cancer.’
