Broccoli

Broccoli

We love broccoli because:

  • Broccoli is high in lutein and zeaxanthin, both are important nutrients for eye health helping to prevent age related degeneration and retinal oxidation

  • Broccoli is a great source of fibre, when we eat fibre bacteria helps digestion by breaking down the fibre to be absorbed by the body.  A by product of this process are short chained fatty acids. Short chain fatty acids provide energy, stimulate intestinal movement and have an anti inflammatory effect

  • Broccoli contains vitamin K and calcium which are both great for bone health

  • Broccoli is a source of immunity boosting vitamin C

  • Broccoli gives us potassium, an electrolyte important for many processes including cell and nerve function
