Glass Straws

Glass Straws

Elegant and lovely to drink from, glass straws are BPA free, better for you and for the environment.  Glass straws are easy to clean and can be used over and over again.  The glass used is strong and doesn't break easily.

Plastic straws are made from a petroleum byproduct called polypropylene mixed with colours and plasticisers that do not biodegrade naturally in the environment.  Most end up in landfill and take up to 400 years to decompose.  In America alone an estimated 500 million plastic straws are used daily!   Every year more than one million seabirds die from ingesting plastic often in the form of straws. Note: The "One Less Straw " campaign begins today, 1st October in America and Canada.  Set up by two teenagers Olivia and Carter Ries, their goal is to get individuals, businesses and schools to sign a pledge not to use any disposable straws for the entire month of October.
